Once the application has been submitted, the applicant needs to schedule an appointment at a location that does electronic fingerprinting. After completing the electronic fingerprints, applicants need to have a background check completed by the appropriate local law enforcement department.

Middlebury residents within the town limits with 3 or 4 digits before the street address will report to the Middlebury Police Department. Middlebury residents outside of town limits with 5 digits before the street address will report to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
